Rich date-chocolate cake

So today I made this chocolate cake because we have company coming over. Everyone always loves this and no one really belives me when I say it’s free of sugar, dairy and even gluten. It literally tastes that good!

I have had this recipe for a long time now and can’t remember where I got it from. Either way, I have tweaked it from the original recipe to make it even better in my opinion. So here is my version of it:

Ingredients:

100 grams of almond flour

1 cup of oats / 2 deciliters

2 1/2 tbsp of cocoa powder

2 1/2 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

1 tsp vanilla bean powder

20 dates

1 1/2 cups / 3 deciliters of plantbased milk

3 eggs

3 tbsp coconut oil

100 grams of good quality 80 % chocolate

Berries and extra chocolate as toppings

Directions:

Blend the oats with the almond flour in a food processer. Add the rest of the dry ingredients and blend again. Transfer to a separate bowl. Then blend the dates with the milk and add the eggs one at a time. Add the dry ingredients and blend again. Transfer everything back to the bowl and stir in the chopped chocolate. 

Bake for about 30 minutes at 350° F/180° C.

When the cake is done, let it cool off, take it out of the tray and decorate with melted chocolate, berries etc.

Tip: You can substitute half of the dates with 1-2 bananas if you prefer.
